Make Your Nails Appear Longer With This Nail Contouring Trend
You thought that the use of contouring technique is just for chiseling out your cheekbones, jawline and nose to get that Kim-K look?
Well, the glam world is going to prove you wrong!
Looks like the glam world is not going to get over the contouring trend anytime soon because now, this trend has moved on from face contouring (and yes, not forgetting the “abs” contouring) to nails contouring..
Yes you read that right.
The nail contouring trend was first spotted in the New York Fashion Week 2017. But if we go by what the celebrity manicurist Jin Soon Choi told to Cosmopolitan magazine, it seems like the nail contouring trend has been there for a long time. Here is what she said about it, “This is something I used to do when I was young.”
“When I was growing up, my friends and I would not extend the colour to the sides of our nails to make our nails look more elongated."
A pretty cool, easy and quick hack to fake long nails, isn't it?
Women who love to sport long nails get really heartbroken when they have to chop off all of their nails if just one of them breaks. The heartbreak is quite understandable because it takes forever to grow ‘em nails back! This is when the nail contouring trend comes to the rescue.

Nail Contouring For Long Nails
→ Apply two coats of a light n*ude nail lacquer shade on your nails. We suggest - DeBelle Gel Nail Lacquer in Natural Blush.
→ Once it has dried, take a dark shade of nail lacquer and paint thick horizontal stripes right in the middle of your nails. Use a black or dark maroon shade like Glamorous Garnet.
This can be done with just one dark nail lacquer shade as well, just follow what the manicurist Jin Soon Choi said - paint your nails without extending the colour to the sides of your nails.
In case you want to use multiple colours for a more chic nail art, pick a nail art detailing brush for making the horizontal stripes and draw the strips as close as possible.
